Debra Wronzberg

Debra Wronzberg is a Thornhill Artist.Her signature style are paintings that marry semi-abstracts with mosaics. Inspired by the natural beauty of Canada and nature in general. Debra creates her paintings by mapping out her compositions using painters tape, then paints them, the magic unfolds during the peeling off process which reveals the mosaic details. In addition she is influenced by the Japanese art form of Kintsugi which is the repairing of broken pottery using liquid gold as glue, it is also a metaphor for life that says ‘what is broken can be repaired and become stronger than it was before,’ a sentiment that deeply resonates with her.

Debra describes her approach to art as a journey of transformation, one that echoes the struggles and triumphs of nature itself, akin to Cézanne’s pursuit of molding nature through geometric form, capturing the essence of Kintsugi in her process.
