Brent McGillivray

Brent McGillivray is a multidisciplinary artist and experienced art director/set designer with over 30 years in the creative industry. His work spans fine art, design, and theatrical production, reflecting a strong foundation in both technical and artistic disciplines.

He holds an Architectural Technology degree from Algonquin College in Ottawa, along with a Printmaking degree from the Alberta College of Art and a Fine Art degree from the Ontario College of Art. This diverse educational background informs his unique approach to composition, structure, and visual storytelling.

Brent’s work is featured in several permanent collections, including the Market Gallery – City of Toronto Archives and the Saskatoon Police Building Foyer, as well as in private collections across North America and Europe.

Throughout his career, Brent has been deeply involved in the arts community. He is a long-standing member of the Director’s Guild of Canada, where he has worked as an Art Director and Set Designer for over three decades. He also served as Co-Chair and Founding Member of Art Works! Perth, and co-founded the Times Gone By Gallery in Perth.

In addition, Brent contributed seven years as a Set Designer with the Haliburton Highlands Theatre and has been actively involved in the Haliburton Studio Tour for 15 years, including serving as Brochure Chair.
