ARTIST BIO
Brenda Nieves
Brenda Nieves’ artistic practice is rooted in the intricate beauty and enduring strength of the forest. A recent visit to the cloud forests reignited her long-standing connection to trees and inspired a body of work that merges nature’s quiet mystery with the tactile, expressive language of ceramics. She views Art as a powerful tool to inspire, provoke reflection, and foster a deeper connection with the world around us.
Through intricate surface texture and innovative, glazing techniques, Nieves creates ceramic works that meditate on the rhythms that meditate on the rhythms of the natural world-it’s cycles of growth, decay, resilience, and renewal.

Each piece is imbued with intention and invites the viewer to pause, contemplate and reconnect with the living ecosystems that sustain us. For Nieves the forest is a breathing, sentient entity.-one that nurtures, shelters, and in turn, asks for care and understanding.
At a time when many feel increasingly disconnected from the natural world, her work offers a sensory experience that bridges art and environment. By evoking the atmosphere of Woodland spaces, her ceramics become portals for reflection, awe, and the quiet transformations that nature so effortlessly models.
