ARTIST BIO
Natalie Plociennik
If she could have it her way, Natalie Plociennik would spend all her time in a giant, living, bouncy castle. Instead, she brings a sense of whimsy and joy to her surreal landscape paintings that envelop the viewer in a comforting cocoon of organic pillowlike forms.
Natalie creates fantastic biomorphic worlds to escape from the barren feelings of living with technology in our stern, modern times. Her paintings reflect on themes of personal identity, love, and environmental sustainability. Natalie’s passion for plant life is informed by her studies in Earth & Environmental Sciences at McMaster University. Inspired by the beauty of the natural world, Natalie’s artwork reveals the connections that exist between all living things and the need to protect our planet.
Natalie’s art invites us to think beyond ourselves and embrace the power of genuine connections. Her captivating images remind us to look past our screens and find unity in our shared experiences.
Natalie regularly exhibits in Toronto and can be found in many Canadian collections. She recently had a showing in Manhattan, NYC at the Agora Gallery and at the Riverdale Gallery.
