Opportunities and Microclimates: Working with the unique characteristics of the HUB’s sustainable roof to create a habitat for pollinators and a microgreens program for the on-site vegan café, The Social Gardener. Special emphasis is on upcycling, creative problem solving, and building community connections.
The rooftop garden is managed by a team who is passionate about food security and social justice. Rosana San-Vincente, the gardener, has extensive knowledge of plant and animal biology and is currently working towards her Masters of Science degree in Urban Agriculture & Green Cities at UniLaSalle in France. Katie Mathieu, our consultant, is an urban agriculturalist and private chef with more than 25 years’ experience working in hospitality.
