About the Artist

Amy K. Fitzgerald, an award-winning Toronto-based painter and mixed media artist, joyfully weaves geometric abstraction into her art, focusing on the sacred circle—a motif symbolizing unity, balance, and familial bonds. Her art-making process involves creating paintings on canvas and paper, followed by intentional deconstruction into fragments and meticulous rearrangement, which she then paints on once more. Through her work, she explores the transformative nature of life’s unpredictability, showcasing the elegance that emerges when we embrace life’s unexpected journey.

Amy embarked on her creative journey at UCLA’s School of Environmental & Interior Design. With an eye for blending functionality and artistic expression, she continued her exploration at Pasadena City College Art Department and LACC Theatre Academy. Active in The Artist Network and The Collective, Amy values collaboration and diverse perspectives. Her exhibitions have included group shows at Leslie Grove Gallery and Twist Gallery, as well as solo exhibitions at Eleven, The Pocket, and with Hello Art. She has participated in various art markets across Ontario, with her works gracing events such as the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Cabbagetown Art & Craft Show, Riverdale ArtWalk, ArtWalk in the Square, Danforth East Arts Fair, Flamingo Market, Toronto ArtCrawl, and Signatures Beaches, earning her a reputation for creating visually stunning and joyful work.
